U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson is expected to announce on Tuesday that his government had decided to scrap the idea of using a vaccine passport for entry into crowded venues like stores and nightclubs, and will set out the "COVID-19 Winter Plan" during a news conference in London.
Health Secretary Sajid Javid said the passports, essentially considered documentation proving vaccination against COVID-19, were still a "potential option" for the future and told the BBC it was something to potentially look into in combination with other measures in the future.
Johnson is also reportedly expected to address the likelihood booster shots would be rolled out soon and warn of the possible challenges the country could once again face this winter amid concerns of the upcoming flu season.
