Trudeau vows to combat Islamophobia, critics say start with Quebec’s Bill-21

The debate over Quebec’s controversial Bill 21 is heating up in the wake of the Islamophobic attack in London, Ontario, where four Muslim family members were killed when they were hit by a vehicle.

The secularism law bans public servants from wearing religious symbols at work, which critics say promotes the kind of discrimination that can turn deadly.

But the provincial government says the recent tragedy has nothing to do with Bill-21.
