Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberals have broken their commitment to create a watchdog with the power to compel evidence related to human rights abuse allegations linked to Canadian companies with international operations, including mining corporations.

Global News investigates recent allegations of human rights abuses fired at one Canadian mining company’s operations in Brazil and how the Canadian government is failing to give the new office enough powers to probe cases like these.
