Sea shanties ride a wave of popularity on TikTok amid pandemic

They’re called "sea shanties," old fishing songs that were sung by sailors at sea to help get them through troubled waters.

Remakes of the songs are now getting millions of views on TikTok, reviving interest in songs created centuries ago.

As people have dealt with hardship the past year, it’s become a way for people to come together even when kept apart due to COVID-19. Ross Lord reports.
