Canadian ‘whistleblower’ back home 6 years after being detained in Dubai

Quebecer André Gauthier spent six years detained off and on in the Middle East over a crime that he did not commit. After uncovering suspicious dealings at gold-trading company Gold AE in 2015, Gauthier was arrested in United Arab Emirates over a multi-billion fraud he himself tried to alert authorities to.

But after years of legal battles and with the help of the Canadian federal government, Gauthier finally managed to return home to Canada on May 5. Mike Le Couteur reports on the breakthrough that set him free, and the the hope for others detained abroad.
