Canada’s COVID-19 immunization campaign ramps up as Alberta passes grim milestone

With over 6,000 new infections from Friday to Sunday, Alberta is now the leading province in all of Canada when it comes active COVID-19 cases per capita.

Amid the worrying surge, health experts are demanding tougher restrictions and pleading with the public to cooperate. As Heather Yourex-West reports, triage protocols are now in discussion, as hospitals near a breaking point.

Meanwhile, Canada’s COVID-19 immunization campaign is accelerating even further, as it begins receiving millions more vaccines each week over the coming months. So how long will it take before they will ease pandemic restrictions, and help Canadians get back to normal? Eric Sorensen looks at the potential timeline – and the potential speed bumps ahead.
